PC Optimum Points
How to earn PC Optimum points and maximize your savings!
Becoming a PC Optimum member is completely free. This handy card allows you to collect points at the checkout of all Loblaws banner stores; Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM), Real Canadian Superstore (RCSS), Loblaws, Zehrs, etc. and even Esso locations. We highly recommend you sign up today and download the PC Optimum app to see all of your offers. Today we are going to breakdown how exactly you earn points and teach you how to maximize your savings!
Loblaws Grocery Stores
There are three places to find grocery store points offers; in-store, in flyers, and on your PC Optimum account. Flyer offers can be found (you guessed it) in your weekly flyers, you can also access these online. In-store offers are not always advertised online or in a flyer sale, you can find these offers promoted in store with a display or on the items price tag, just make sure you check the expiration date of the promotion (and keep your eyes out for these while you shop!). Online or via the PC Optimum App you can find “Your weekly offers”. These offers are just for you, every Thursday PC updates them! Offers are typically based on items you regularly purchase, and sometimes feature new and exciting offers to try. You can defer a maximum of 4 offers each week for the following week; meaning if you don’t want to use them this week but you think you may want them next week, simply save them for then! You can use coupons and earn points, manufacturer coupons do not affect your subtotal, while manager coupons do. The best thing here; you can earn and redeem points all in the same transaction!
Your weekly Offers
Loadable offers are promotions advertised online, or again in flyer sales. These are points offers exclusive to a specific Loblaws banner store and feature great deals. They may be preloaded on your account (no need to do anything!), or on occasion require you to select the ones you want online and load them to your account. Follow us along on IG or Facebook for these announcements and to learn when they become available.

1,000 points earned is the equivalent of $1 back in points at these locations. The minimum redemption value is $10, so in order to redeem points (and get money off of your purchase) you’ll need a minimum of 10,000 points.
Shoppers Drug Mart
When you shop at SDM (and Pharmaprix) you earn 15 points for every $1 spent, before tax (these are referred to as your base points).
If you subscribe to the SDM text offers you will receive a 20x offer every Tuesday via text. To receive those simply text OFFER to 736-898 and follow the text prompts. These are single use only, meaning you can only take advantage of the 20x offer once and in a single transaction.

The 20x offers are applicable only on base points. So, if you spend $40 (before tax) at SDM that would earn you 600 base points ($40 x 15 points / $1 = 600 points). If you combined that with a 20x offer (300 points per $1 spent) that’s a total of 12,000 points (the equivalent of $12 off!). The real savings start when you purchase products that have an in-store or personal offer attached to them. For example, if you were to purchase 2 Dove products with an in-store offer of buy 2 get back 1,000 points you would receive an addition $1 back in points. If you have coupons, even better! Using manufacturer coupons does not affect your subtotal. Using manager coupons (those little pink tags stuck on a product marking a product 30% off of $1 off) does affect your subtotal. Couponers spend great lengths breaking down the best offers each week to see what items are a deal that can’t be beat!
Don’t forget to check your PC Optimum account online or via the app to see your SDM Exclusive offer! Each week you generally get a 10,000 (or 20x) offer exclusive to you and based on a minimum spend. This cannot be combined with another 20x offer (no stacking).
SDM Exlcusive 20x offer
Keep your eyes on your weekly flyers for redemption events! These allow you to redeem points for even more money off. More details to come on that in a separate blog post.
Note, you cannot redeem and earn points at SDM, so keep that in mind when you shop and if you’re trying to bulk up on points. 20 x points are not earned on some products, such as tabacco and gift cards.
Esso
Did you know you can earn points at Esso?! That’s right! With your PC Optimum card you can earn 10 points per litre, up to a maximum of 40L (= 400 points) at the pump! If you need to run into your Esso and grab a few items, you’ll earn 10 points per $1 spent on eligible convenience and car wash purchases. You can also redeem points at Esso! Currently 10,000 points will get you a free car wash. Alternatively, if you want to save on gas redeem 4,000 points to save $0.10 off every litre you purchase at the pump. Don’t forget to check your PC Optimum account to see if you have any excusive offers! Here you’ll find points promotions just for you, including “earn 3,000 points when you spend $20 or more on fuel at Esso”
